Service Projects

Sacred Share

Sacred Share provides long-term relational connection and care for widows in Austin. We serve with them quarterly with the “Saturday workday for widows” program, assisting with projects at their homes.

Sunrise

Sunrise offers pathways to housing for people experiencing homelessness. They provide food, clothing, healthcare, social services, and more. We volunteer two or three times a year on Saturday mornings, doing cleaning, organizing, restocking, landscaping, and more.

Weekly Relational Service

Reading Partner with Lee Elementary

Reading Partners are paired with two Lee Elementary students and read with each student weekly to help them read on grade level. The commitment is for one hour, one day a week, during the school year. (Ability to speak Spanish is a bonus!)

Seedling Mentors

Seedling mitigates the impact of parental incarceration on children in Central Texas through school-based mentoring. We volunteer as mentors, meeting with children weekly for thirty minutes during their school day.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels provides food and groceries for the elderly and disabled who are homebound.  We volunteer by delivering food and groceries to homes in Austin for about an hour a week.

Long-term family service

More Than Welcome

Midtown works with More Than Welcome, to provide a support system for refugee families. Volunteers become American friends they can rely on for care and support by meeting the practical needs of families as they settle into Austin.

Safe Families

Safe Families pairs volunteers with single moms in crisis to build a circle of support and community for a mom and her children. Volunteers have the opportunity to serve by providing resources and meeting practical needs.
