Akiko graduated from the University of Texas in 2016 where she majored in East Asian Studies with a specialization in Mandarin Chinese. Over the course of her time at University, she was involved with three summer mission projects, two in Branson, MO and one overseas. Through her experience, God grew her desire to invest in cross-cultural ministry as well as women’s discipleship. When her time at UT was coming to an end, she felt God calling her to work full-time with Midtown College, the ministry that continually pointed her to Jesus and encouraged her to live life fully in the freedom found in Him. In her free time, Akiko enjoys sipping on black coffee, eating seared fish tacos, curling up to unputdownable books and taking long walks.
