Austin Hill started following Jesus in 8th grade through the Confirmation process at the Lutheran church where he grew up. He moved to Austin in 2011 to start school at UT and got connected to Hill Country Bible Church UT right away. He got plugged in with a discipleship group and began serving on the Connections team shortly thereafter.
That same semester, he met Melanie (they had Chemistry together), and they started dating a few years later, eventually getting married in 2016. Austin graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 2015, and he began working at National Instruments (NI) a few months later.
Over the years as HCBCUT changed to HCBC Central and then Midtown, Austin and Mel have served in various capacities, including leading small groups as part of Hill Country on Campus (aka Midtown College), leading discipleship groups, serving in Midtown Kids, and on the Prayer/Treats/Tear Down teams over the years, as well as leading their Midtown Community.
Austin and Melanie, who works as a screenwriter for Cru, live on the East side with their cat, Bellatrix and their dog, Nala. In his free time, Austin likes to bake sweets, hike, go to Disney World, and play board games. He is excited to continue serving the Midtown family as a member of the Elder Board.
